Event aims at place in history

Pioneer is returning to Norwich for the second time with its national Event for History Makers on the Norfolk Showground from May 29 to June 1. Two years after the successful Event for Revival the Pioneer group of churches is back in the county with leading names such as Ishmael, Noel Richards, Gerald Coates, Jeff Lucas, Caroline Bonnett, Pete Greig and the World Wide Message Tribe. "We are expecting 5000 people at this event ," explained Pioneer leader Gerald Coates. "The conference has been designed for those who want to make a difference in their families, their school - university and the workplace." "It will reflect the sort of thing we see at our Pioneer Leaders' Conference and our previous Event two years ago with a mixture of seasoned and anointed high profile ministries as well as grass-root initiatives coming up from out of the network" explained Jeff Lucas. "Pioneer churches around the world will be joined by many other churches, Christian Unions, groups outside of Pioneer who are keen to make a difference to both society and church." On the music front there is the World Wide Message Tribe who will be talking about their work and their plans for the year 2000 in Manchester when they will be working with Soul Survivor on what is being hailed as the biggest youth outreach ever in the UK. The Event is structured to incorporate various lifestyle zones including arts, workplace, marriage, politics, sport, city, student and revival. The specialised forums aim to equip different people groups with relevant teaching and practical advice, while connecting and sharing with other Christians in similar situations There is a full family programme and student discounts are available.
