Norwich will get its first Christian radio station for seven years in May as part of the Living Water event on the Norfolk Showground.
It is the first time Living Water has included such a facility which is the idea of former Radio Broadland Sunday Starter presenter Andy Hopley.
The Living Water Radio team consists of an inter-church group of volunteers, presenters, reporters, engineers and reception staff plus publicity and advertising sales people.
The station has been granted a restricted service licence which will enable it to broadcast 24-hours a day on 107.7 FM fromThursday April 29 to Monday May 3. It will be produced from specially set-up studios on the Norfolk Showground and broadcast to Norwich and the surrounding area.
"We will be offering a mix of contemporary Christian music including the latest in praise and worship, as well as classic pop hits, in-depth features, interviews, what's on details, hourly news bulletins, late night chat shows and plenty of competitions," said Andy.

"We are looking for local businesses who want to support the station by advertising their products or services," he said. The team would also like to hear from local churches and groups who would like to feature on the station. Andy can be contacted on 01603 891749 or e-mail andy@hopley.freeserve.co.uk.
As far as Andy and the rest of his team are concerned the five-day station is just part of a larger vision that they have for Christian broadcasting in the area and have already developed a complete portable broadcast studio using the latest technology.
"We are gaining the resources, people and experience to offer any local Christian organisation the opportunity to get themselves on the airwaves and reach out to their local community," said Andy.
The last time Norwich had a Christian radio station was back in 1992 with Radio Cracker. If the Living Water Radio team have anything to do with it, the county will not have to wait another seven years until the next one.
